National Deaf LGBTQ Awareness Week (aka #DeafLGBTQWeek and #DeafQueerWeek) is a project of the Deaf Queer Resource Center. It launched in 2018 with the goal of uplifting, supporting and bringing more positive visibility to our multiply-marginalized Deaf LGBTQ communities, especially our youth. One of our goals is to see National Deaf LGBTQ Awareness Week eventually celebrated at all our Deaf schools.

As many Deaf schools observe Spring recess during different weeks in March and April, #DeafLGBTQWeek alternates between the 2nd and 3rd week in April each year and begins on Monday.

If you’re on social media, be sure to use and follow the hashtag #DeafLGBTQWeek so you can find other people’s posts and they can find yours during this fun and inspiring week.

If you’re on Instagram, follow @deaflgbtqweek where the majority of #DeafLGBTQWeek social media content is re-posted and shared during National Deaf LGBTQ Awareness Week.

We love you!
